How to force-quit an application on a Mac

Computer problems on the Mac? Unfortunately, Mac’s aren’t immune to crashing. Most of us are familiar with good old control-alt-delete — the way to force quit a program that isn’t responding on the PC. But if you’ve recently purchased a new and pretty Macbook (like me), control-alt-delete won’t do it for you.

On the Mac, the key command to force-quit a program that isn’t responding is:

Command-Option-Escape

For those new to the Mac, the “command” key is the one with the little apple on it.

And voila, there’s your menu of programs to quit, just like you get on the PC (except prettier).
